Maddie's Room

With the impending arrival of Madison, I started working on transforming her room in the fall of 2013. Over the next couple of months Brittany and I were able to make this nursery into more than we had hoped it would be! We can't wait to bring her home to her brand new room!

I got the idea of striping from another website and decided to try it out as an accent. Taping was a real pain but the work paid off (I think)!

I had previously installed crown molding in the living room and wanted to continue that as we completed other rooms of the house and in addition to that I also installed chair rail molding. Some finishing touches like the chandelier, the wall letters, and the baskets were the ideas of Brittany and they really bring things together!

We're still waiting on the delivery of the slipcover for the chair due to a mix-up in shipping but other than that this room is nearly complete!

We found the vinyl wall art from Etsy and Brittany helped me put it up on the wall (it came in 100+ individual pieces!). I just installed the shelves today but I'm sure they'll soon hold other frames and mementos.

The chandelier provides more than enough light but will probably be too bright in the middle of the night so the lamp in the corner provides a nice warm light. Very convenient, too, that it is connected to a light switch by the door.

A majority of the clothes are hanging in the closet along with several other gifts from the baby shower (thanks to everyone who got Madison something, btw!). We grabbed a cube storage system a few weeks ago to help organize some things.

My favorite outfit (try and spot it) is a pink fuzzy bear suit that we're going to put her
in when we come home from the hospital.
